Appliance Online could make my (and your!) dream come true!

As most of you know from my various rantings on twitter or real life, my washing machine is the bane of my life.   It has served us well these last 16ish  (oh when things were built to last) years but has been very temperamental these past few months and finally gave up the ghost a few months ago.

We have been unable to replace this due to financial constraints, so when I was having a moan to the very sexy voiced Yossi over at Appliances Online he told me that if I made a video plea that I might just get my wish come true!!

Never one to turn down a challenge, I got the kids involved and we came up with a very silly poem that we then captured on video before rushing off to school.  I love that when you listen to this, you can hear the kids laughing at me in the background..too cute!

The great thing about this is that you choose the prize - what is it that you most desire???  I went for the Samsung eco bubble washing machine as not only does it have an 8kg wash it is also A+++ efficiency rating which means that not only does it offers a unique blend of advanced design and technology, it also achieves top class energy consumption (30 percent less than the limit for an “A Energy” rated washer).

What really appeals to me though is the "bubble technology" which dissolves the washing powder into the water and then injects air, which produces a rich soapy foam cushion that begins to appear in the drum seconds after the normal cycle starts. The detergent is so thoroughly dissolved into the water, it doesn’t need as much hot water (unlike me, I know I am waffling on but it is such a great advance in technology) to aid the cleaning and penetrates deeper into clothes up to four times faster than conventional washers.

What this basically means is that it can wash at 15°C temperatures whilst delivering an unbeatable 70 percent energy saving.

How amazing is that?!!!

If you fancy having a go yourself, or you just want to have a giggle at my video, then head on over to Appliances Online Facebook page.  My video plea is on the 2nd page.....

I would love it if you could comment on their page and please, please enter yourself!!!

Peace and Love

An Amazing Opportunity...............

When I was in labour with Beansy way, way back in 2003, England were playing the best Rugby they had played in a long time at the world cup.   Of course we went on to win and us English fans were quite literally worshiping at the feet of a certain Mr Wilkinson.  In fact, such a passionate English fan I am, that I wanted to give Beansy the middle name "Jonny".

HAW being Scottish put his put down on that idea, but it was no surprise that our boys would go on to play rugby from a very young age.  In fact, when we were talking about a summer holiday at the weekend they said they didn't care where we went so long as they could take a rugby ball!

They both started playing aged 3 at our local club Sutton & Epsom RFC and HAW is now a coach whilst I manage the Under 7's.    S&E is one of the oldest yet most active clubs in the Country which has a splendid and magnificent past.  You can find out more Here

Our under 7's have had a magnificent first festival season, winning plenty of silverware and qualifying for the final of the Curtain Raiser Cup at Quins.  We lost by one try to the eventual winners but more importantly than any silverware is the team spirit and enjoyment for the game that has been seen throughout the squad.

When I saw that AEG were supporting grass roots Rugby and offering not 1 but 50 (!) teams aged 16 and under the opportunity to design new kits, win a washing machine, tumble dryer and lots of other goodies I just had to enter my boys and girls.    I couldn't believe it today when I was told that we were a finalist!!!

Now my lovely friends, we are all waiting with bated breathe to find out which lucky team gets the opportunity to train with Austin Healey, and the ultimate grand prize of a once in the lifetime opportunity to train with the England team!!

You can also try and win a new AEG washing machine by entering a competition Here

Fingers crossed for my little Superstars!!!

Peace and Love

Nip + Fab Frown Fix Competition!!

I am so, so excited to tell you about my latest competition.  I am a massive fan of the newly launched and gaining cult status brand Nip + Fab which is the latest beauty launch from Maria Hatzistefanis who is also the owner behind the premium body sculpting brand Rodial.

While not everyone can afford the high-end price tags attached to the Rodial products, this new NIP + FAB line targets more budget-conscious shoppers as everything is less than twenty pounds and promises to deliver measurable results at prices that don’t cost the earth.
I already love Clean Fix an oil based facial cleanser that dissolves even the most stubborn mascara and I worship at the altar of their Tummy Fix which has melted the fat away from my tummy!  In fact, the whole range does what is says on the tin and so it was with much excitement that I waited for the launch of Frown Fix
This miracle in a tube should come with a health warning as it is highly addictive and more to the point effective!  You really can see miracle results almost instantly and if you are anything like me, you'll keep applying and applying throughout the day!  Move over lip gloss addiction, there is a new bad boy on the block!!
The pen applicator (think touche eclat) makes it really easy to use as all you need to to do is twizzle the end to release the cream and then brush on to any of life's experiences (wrinkles, frown lines, crows feet).
You can see visible results after just one use, but be warned, you be become hooked!

I have been using this for over a week now and my expression lines are plumped and smooth.  People have commented that I look "different" and even HAW can see a difference, in fact I caught him having a go...
I have five (yes 5!) of these bad boys to give away so if you want in then all you have to do is the following:
1) Follow my blog using google friend connect (button on left) and leave me a comment telling me you have done so (1 entry, mandatory)
2) Head on over to Nip and Fab Facebook and like (1 entry, mandatory)
3) Whilst you are there, also like my facebook page Super Amazing Mum Facebook (1 entry, mandatory)
4) For an extra entry, please RT "I have entered to win the amazing Frown Fix with @nipandfab and @superamazingmum" (1 extra entry)
5) Comment on another blog post on my blog (1 extra entry) and tell me below what one
Please can you let me know below what you have done!!
The competition will close on the 15th May 2011 at midnight.  If you can't wait that long, then Frown is priced at £10:25 and can be bought from Harvey Nicks and Boots.
Peace and Love

Please rate my story telling!!! Judge me, Judge me!

I have always loved books, the magic of a story, the thrill of a good book.  This is something that I have always loved, I have very fond memories indeed of both my parents reading to us from a very young age.  I hope (!) I am passing the same love of books and stories onto my children, I am certainly enjoying the ritual of reading to and with them.

I blogged about my love of books on World Book day last week HERE and my lovely mum has sent me the link to a talktalk competition that she thought I should enter.  Now, I must say, I LOVE reading stories to the children and the lure of being known as "Britain's Best Storyteller" definitely excites me!  Imagine dining out on that one for the rest of your life....

"I was Britain's best storyteller you know in 2011".....

However, I have just read the terms and conditions and it seems that to get into the final 10 you need votes.  So, dear readers, I am putting myself on a limb here, you can rate my story telling abilities out of 5.......

I would be honoured if you could please vote for me HERE

Thank you so much!

Win a beautiful, Vintage 50s dress.......(sob)

I am a lover of all things vintage, I collect glass perfume bottles and I love the glamour of Hollywood past.  Vintage has seen a massive rise in popularity with stylists embracing the past to recreate a new look and this is something I was doing long before it became "fashionable".

Sadly, three children in five years and a (finally!)diagnosed under active thyroid has promoted a massive change in my body shape.  Gone are the body con dresses of yesteryear, replaced instead with tunics and leggings, the staple "mumpreneur" uniform that most of my contemporaries seem to favour.  I love this style as it is easy, comfortable and hides a multitude of sins.

However, it has left me with a wardrobe bursting at the seams and I have decided to let one of you lovely readers win one of my favourite pieces.  I bought this 15 (ish) years ago at an Antique fair in Battersea Arts Club.  I fell in love with it instantly.  It is a gorgeous example of 50s splendour with a nipped in waist and a full, stiff underskirt.  It has amazing detail, a big, black bow on the front and a beautiful pleated, concertina seam at the back.  It is a generous 12 and fairly tight across the bust.

It has been to Ladies Day at Ascot (accompanied with a HUGE black, Holly Golightly Hat) a wedding in the South of France which ended up with me playing craps in the Monte Carlo casino with a F1 player, and a beautiful Tuscan wedding.

Now, I could sell this on ebay or to a collector, but I have decided that I would much rather give it away to someone who will love it as much as I do.   Therefore, please only enter if you would wear this or perhaps if you have a daughter who would.  You will get bad dress karma if you sell this gorgeous dress, I promise you that!!!!!!!

If you would like to win this, here is what you need to do:

1) Follow this blog and comment below telling me who your style icon is and why
2) follow me on twitter @superamazingmum and tweet "I have entered to win a vintage 50s dress with @superamazingmum http://t.co/i4DETBE

I will choose my 5 favourite style icons from your answers below, stick them in a hat, (vintage of course!) and then pick out a name.  This closes on the 30th March 2011.

Win a beautiful bespoke necklace or bracelet of your choice!

December is the busiest month in my work calendar and  I attend many events in the hope of drumming up new business.  The days are long and often cold and regardless of where you are, you will always build up a camaraderie with other exhibitors, often minding each others stalls whilst you pop to the loo or grab a bite to eat.

At one such event, I had the pleasure of being next to the lovely Beatrice  from Merci Maman.   Beatrice set the business up in 2007 with the aim of creating charming, unique and personalised gifts for the entire family.  I was particularly struck by the expert craftsmanship and passion that Beatrice has for her business.  I was enthralled by the beautiful charm bracelets and necklaces presented on a simple waxed cotton braid in the colour of your choice.    The clincher for me, was the fact you could inscribe what you like!

Rather than go for the obvious, I decided to have the children's nicknames inscribed onto the heart shaped discs (you can personalise this further as lots of different shapes available).

A few days after my order was placed, the lariat arrived in a beautiful presentation box and I immediately loved the simplicity and charm of the necklace.  The fact that their personalised charm bracelets are hand engraved adds to the uniqueness and I have already had lots of compliments.

If you would like to win a personalised bracelet or necklace (you choose) please do the following:

1) Follow my blog and tell me what "Merci Maman" means in English
2) Go on over to the Merci Maman website and tell me what your favourite item is.
3) Please make sure you follow @superamazingmum and @mercimamangifts on twitter

Please leave me a comment below to tell me what you have done and how best to contact you if you win!
