Guest Blog Post from Stephy @isaac_elijahmum

Foreword: Stephy is an amazing mum who is battling cancer.  I wanted to get her an ipad to make her life easier, my goal was to do this by her next round of 3 weeks of radiotherapy on the 3rd May.  We did this in less than 2 days, which was amazing, people who didn't even know Stephy donated and all of your words of support and encouragement have been sent to her.   You can read about how we did that Here and Here .

This is truly the power of social media!

Here is what Stephy has to say:

Hi this is Steph from @isaac_elijahmum.

I read these posts again last night and it takes a lot for me to cry but I did. I was very emotional and cannot believe you have all done this for me. I'm not special, I'm just me, an ordinary girl from North Wales fighting a stubborn stinky disease called Cancer.
I am totally overwhelmed and taken aback by your generosity, support, beautiful kind words of encouragement and I was left utterly speechless. The post you have written Sophie is also beautiful and that too made me cry especially what you had written about my Isaac. He does truly believe He's Buzz Lightyear and has an imaginary laser arm (left) and Ben 10 special powers on his right arm! He has indeed been trying to magic my hair back !:) He thinks my hair will grow back to how it was prior to chemotherapy over night. Honestly, I kid you not! I have a few follicles sticking up at the front and back now, I'm very pleased with this but no not Isaac! He still thinks I resemble a Man!:))

I'd like to take this opportunity to thank every single one of you so so so so much. My lap top is actually on it's way out too as it's quite old and I don't think it has much longer left to live at all. Thank you very very much indeed. This is such a Lovely, thoughtful and kind thing to do for both Isaac and myself. We will never forget this.

I also promise I will never stop fighting and will continue to get better and beat this disease.
THANK YOU.

An ipad for Stephy - we did it!!!!!!!!!

WOW, WOW, WOW, WOW...........................

In less than 2 days we have managed to raise the funds to buy an ipad for Stephy.  You can read my pledge to get her an ipad here An ipad for Stephy .

We did it!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Thank you so much to everyone who has pledged, what I need you to do now is donate.  Another twitter friend @mummybarrow has kindly agreed for us to use her paypal so please go to http://www.paypal.com/ and pay your pledge to tanyabarrow@hotmail.co.uk (please be advised it will come up as her business Southern Home Management).   Please leave your twitter/blog id so we know you have paid and any message of support for Stephy as she has asked me to print of so she can look back on this in years to come!

Can you please, please do this ASAP as we would like to get Stephy her ipad sooner rather than later.  If we get anything above the amount, then we are going to buy toys for Stephy's 3 year old son "Buzz Lightyear".

Thank you so very much to everyone who has donated and a very special thank you to Baukjen who is the co-founder of Isabella Oliver  home to the most beautifully, stylish maternity and daywear.  (I am secretly coveting the Gold Sequin Blazer ) and who made up the difference meaning I don't need to keep hounding everyone.

WOW WOW WOW again

Peace and Love

An ipad for Steph

This is a post that I am dedicating to the wonderful, beautiful, inspiring Stephy who tweets at @isaac_elijahmum.  I have never met Steph, I didn't even know her until a few months ago, but the wonderful world of twitter threw us together and we have been tweeting for a while now.

For those of you that do not know Steph, she has cancer.  Three weeks ago she was fighting for her life in intensive care and her twitter feed was updated by her friends and family who knew that many, many people had been touched by Steph and were worrying about her.   I have been humbled by Steph's take on life, her fight against the dreaded cancer and her sense of humour as she battles on.  She is so considerate of other people and I want to do something for her to help ease the boredom/stress/pain/ she has to go through.

She has an old clunky laptop that she takes everywhere, she has said to me and others that reading blogs and tweeting keeps her going, the messages of support spur her on.  I have tried using a laptop in bed, it's a nightmare and it got me thinking that if every single one of Steph's tweeters gave just a 50p donation, we could very quickly raise enough to get her an ipad which would make her life so much easier.

Steph has a gorgeous little boy that we know as Buzz Lightyear.  He is a typical cheeky three year old who Stephy loves very much.  He tries to make her hair regrow by using his special Ben 10 powers, he doesn't understand why her hair won't grow back overnight.  She treasures each moment she has with him and you can just tell from her tweets that her heart is breaking everyday she is away from him in hospital.  If we raise enough to get her an ipad, she can Skype with her gorgeous little boy.

Step is at home for Easter and looking forward to it, she is however back at the hospital on the 3rd of May for 3 weeks of radiotherapy.  I would dearly love to have raised the funds and have her ipad delivered to her by then.

I have no idea how to collect the money - I am aiming for £500 which will enable us to get Steph her ipad.  I am going to start the pledging below, if you want to help, then please leave a comment with the amount you pledge.  I am sure that someone will come along and tell me how to collect the money online!

Thank you for reading this, I have to also say that Steph knows about this as I couldn't not tell her.  She was worried that people would think she was a "charity case".  Stephy, you are far, far, from that and we all wish you the very best in your fight against cancer.

Peace and Love
