When I first started my blog it was to capture those little gems that kids say which if you are anything like me, you will soon forget.......Today it was the turn of Beansy to make me laugh but first I shall set the scene....it probably will get lost in translation but made me laugh a LOT!
Pixie is naked having taken off her skirt to do a poo on the loo......quick as a flash, BoBo whips her skirt up and puts it on before prancing (yep, he really was) around saying "I'm Mummy's little girl...ooooooooohhhhh"
Pixie then flings herself (yep, she really does) onto the floor wailing and kicking saying "NO, I am Mummy's girl"
This goes on for about 2 minutes when Beansy then pipes up "Mummy, your kids really are weirdos aren't they?"
See, lost in translation but has made me laugh again!!!
I have cross dressing, naked dancing, temper tantrum throwing kids, but do you know what?! I wouldn't swop them for love or money!!!!

Appliance Online could make my (and your!) dream come true!
As most of you know from my various rantings on twitter or real life, my washing machine is the bane of my life. It has served us well these last 16ish (oh when things were built to last) years but has been very temperamental these past few months and finally gave up the ghost a few months ago.
We have been unable to replace this due to financial constraints, so when I was having a moan to the very sexy voiced Yossi over at Appliances Online he told me that if I made a video plea that I might just get my wish come true!!
Never one to turn down a challenge, I got the kids involved and we came up with a very silly poem that we then captured on video before rushing off to school. I love that when you listen to this, you can hear the kids laughing at me in the background..too cute!
The great thing about this is that you choose the prize - what is it that you most desire??? I went for the Samsung eco bubble washing machine as not only does it have an 8kg wash it is also A+++ efficiency rating which means that not only does it offers a unique blend of advanced design and technology, it also achieves top class energy consumption (30 percent less than the limit for an “A Energy” rated washer).
What really appeals to me though is the "bubble technology" which dissolves the washing powder into the water and then injects air, which produces a rich soapy foam cushion that begins to appear in the drum seconds after the normal cycle starts. The detergent is so thoroughly dissolved into the water, it doesn’t need as much hot water (unlike me, I know I am waffling on but it is such a great advance in technology) to aid the cleaning and penetrates deeper into clothes up to four times faster than conventional washers.
What this basically means is that it can wash at 15°C temperatures whilst delivering an unbeatable 70 percent energy saving.
How amazing is that?!!!

The Muslim News is Happy About the Scottish Election Results
Labour, SNP, Tories, Lib Dems...doesn't really matter to the Muslim News, as long as they're Muslims. Hell, they'd probably even be happy about a BNP member being elected - as long as he was a Muslim too. The newspaper happily reports on the two Muslims, Humza Yousaf and Hanzala Malik, who recently won appointment to the Scottish parliament through the undemocratic regional list system.
In amidst the gushing reportage, there are a few interesting nuggets of information. For example, there is further evidence, as if any were needed, on the SNP's self-debasement in pursuit of Muslim votes:

This is shocking. I didn't know the SNP had wasted taxpayer money donating to Pakistani flood relief. Yet again we see the SNP's foreign aid going to Islam-dominated countries; and they choose to highlight it in their election literature, published in Urdu so real Scottish people can't read it. This is blatant abuse of power. They are giving money away as foreign aid to win over domestic voter groups.

What does this mean? "It was the SNP that introduced a bill to criminalise forced marriage". It sounds as if he is saying that as a criticism of the SNP. So, presumably, he must be in favour of forced marriage? I think it's time a journalist asked Hanzala Malik pointedly what his position on forced marriage is.
Malik also makes it clear that he intends to agitate on behalf of Muslims rather than act in the interests of the Scottish people as a whole:

An Amazing Opportunity...............
When I was in labour with Beansy way, way back in 2003, England were playing the best Rugby they had played in a long time at the world cup. Of course we went on to win and us English fans were quite literally worshiping at the feet of a certain Mr Wilkinson. In fact, such a passionate English fan I am, that I wanted to give Beansy the middle name "Jonny".

HAW being Scottish put his put down on that idea, but it was no surprise that our boys would go on to play rugby from a very young age. In fact, when we were talking about a summer holiday at the weekend they said they didn't care where we went so long as they could take a rugby ball!
They both started playing aged 3 at our local club Sutton & Epsom RFC and HAW is now a coach whilst I manage the Under 7's. S&E is one of the oldest yet most active clubs in the Country which has a splendid and magnificent past. You can find out more Here
Our under 7's have had a magnificent first festival season, winning plenty of silverware and qualifying for the final of the Curtain Raiser Cup at Quins. We lost by one try to the eventual winners but more importantly than any silverware is the team spirit and enjoyment for the game that has been seen throughout the squad.
When I saw that AEG were supporting grass roots Rugby and offering not 1 but 50 (!) teams aged 16 and under the opportunity to design new kits, win a washing machine, tumble dryer and lots of other goodies I just had to enter my boys and girls. I couldn't believe it today when I was told that we were a finalist!!!
Now my lovely friends, we are all waiting with bated breathe to find out which lucky team gets the opportunity to train with Austin Healey, and the ultimate grand prize of a once in the lifetime opportunity to train with the England team!!

Fundraising for New Zealand
My lovely, talented business partner (in crime!) is fundraising for the Christchurch Earthquake appeal and has given herself just a week to raise £500.

Lego Frog Rush Game - Review
When I told the boys that we were going to review one of the new Lego games, they nearly wet themselves in excitement. You see to a 7 and 4 year old, Lego is the be all and end all, the elixir of playtime. I on the other hand, inwardly groaned. I am sick to the back teeth of Lego, I find it everywhere from down the sofa to in my handbag and I presumed that this would be lots more bricks to add to the ever increasing mountain.
However, when we opened the box, I was pleasantly surprised - there wasn't a lot and it was quite small.
We didn't even follow the instructions to put this together as I stupidly didn't realise there were two instruction packs in the box (ikea this isn't!)one for the putting together of the game and the other how to play. It took about 10 mins to put together and we quickly got stuck into the game. The object of the game is to get your frogs back home (this reminded me of the 80's computer game frogger) before your opponents get their frogs back to base. Add to the fact you have a froggy eating stork on the board and it makes for a game of tactics (the boys quickly came to a silent agreements that if either of them rolled orange which means taking control of the stork, that they would eat my frogs).
We really enjoyed this and played a couple of rounds before bed. This is aimed at children aged 7+ but BoBo who is 4 really got into it (although was a bit heavy handed with the pieces). Beansy aged 7 loved it and even got some Lego ninjas involved as the "froggy protectors".
This retails at around £10 and would make a great present for a boy or girl.

Toffee Dodgers - A review
It didn't take much persuading when we were offered the chance to review the latest offering from the Burton's Dodger family - the Toffee Dodgers. Now I have to say, I have been a massive fan of Jammie Dodgers for a long, long, time and they are always the biscuits I home in on at kids parties. So, would the toffee dodgers meet my exacting standards?? More importantly, what would the kids think??
When we first opened the packet, we were hit by a very strong caramel toffee smell - first bite and the lovely crumbly base that you get with the Jammie dodgers is there and then you hit the sticky toffee. Now I have to be honest and say that for me they didn't quite hit the spot, it was a very strange sort of toffee taste although the texture was spot on. I would almost describe it as a burnt toffee taste.
The kids on the other hand, LOVED them!!!
Here is what Mandy Bobrowski the Marketing Manager at Burton’s Foods has to say ‘Dodgers are a well loved family treat and we wanted to offer families more choice. Toffee Dodgers brings a whole new flavour to the range and we hope that kids love it as much as we do. The new packaging will run across the range and there will be other additions in the future.’
What is fab is that the design has the cut away heart and you can cut the biscuits in half to lick the toffee filling out. In fact, does anyone NOT eat dodgers in this way??

Mona Siddiqui and the Muslim Infiltration of Scotland
Someone at the Herald has obviously been given orders to engage in pro-Muslim propaganda because yesterday the newspaper published yet another lightweight, Islam-friendly puff piece, this in the form of an interview with Mona Siddiqui, Professor of Islamic Studies and Public Understanding at the University of Glasgow.
The Muslim gives Glasgow a little pat on the head. Thanks, Muslim!
Reviewing her website, it seems Mona Siddiqui once gave a lecture called "Is Islam law ethical?" The text of the lecture can be downloaded here. Unfortunately, she doesn't really make a serious attempt to answer the question. She does take the opportunity to engage in some taqiyya-style apologetics for the Islamic death penalty for apostasy. According to her, the Islamic texts calling for the death penalty to be applied to apostates must be seen:

So it is grossly deceitful for her to pretend that these texts do not have widespread acceptance. In fact there is an overwhelming consensus among Muslims in support of the view that apostates should be executed, and this has been re-affirmed even in recent times by the Organisation of the Islamic Conference. Pretending that Islamic texts are "disputed" is a classic taqiyya tactic.
Mona Siddiqui is also chair of the The Chair of the BBC's Scottish Religious Advisory Committee. The Muslim population of Scotland is generally judged to be about 1% of the whole. Why has a member of this tiny faith community been allowed to have a predominant say in the BBC's coverage of religion in Scotland? It is the same thing at the UK level. The BBC's overall head of religious programming is the Muslim Aaqil Ahmed, who, both at the BBC and in his previous tenure at Channel 4, has commissioned programs which subtly demean Christianity.
It seems Mona Siddiqui is also a member of the Committee on Scottish Devolution. The statutory purpose of this body is:
Why is a woman who was born in Pakistan, grew up in Yorkshire and has lived in Scotland for only 15 years being allowed to influence the constitutional future of Scotland? How was she appointed to this position? I haven't found any explanation of that, but it is bizarre indeed. And it's not the only bizarre thing about this body. Look at its membership. It has 15 members in total. One is called Rani Dhir. Although she doesn't seem to be a Muslim, she is a member of an ethnic minority. And this status seems to be very important to her.
The woman is clearly a racist. She supports organisations that explicitly give preference to people according to their supposed race. Here is a quote from PATH's website:
So the Committee on Scottish Devolution contains two ethnics out of a total membership of 15. This equals 13.33% of its membership. The ethnic minority population of Scotland is generally stated to be around 2% of the whole. How is it fair that these ethnics, who are presumably appointed on this basis alone, are given 13% of the influence on the constitutional future of Scotland? This is outrageous racial favouritism!
Their website also offers translations of the Commission on Scottish Devolution's "Commissioning Note" in Punjabi, Bengali, Chinese, Urdu and Arabic! WTF?!?

Key Lime Pie - Easy Recipe...
Key Lime Pie is one of the families favourites puddings to both eat and make and this recipe is so easy, even the kids can do it! It's our take on this as we use ginger biscuits rather than digestives as I think that ginger and lime are a fabulous combination!
In fact, it is more of a key lime cheesecake as you don't bake it in the oven so despite calling it a pie, it really is technically a cheesecake. Either way, it is booooootiful!!!
Ingredients/You will need:
1) Two packets of ginger biscuits (this makes a lovely thick base)
2) 1 pint of double cream
3) 1 tin of sweetened condensed milk
4) 5oz butter
5) 8 large limes - Juice and Zest
6) Mixing Bowl/Blender/Spoons/Springform cake tin approx 12" (but if you only have smaller then it will make a thicker pie
7) A very helpful 2 year old (optional)
Method
1) bash your biscuits to make a base. My beautiful assistant is doing it here, I put mine in either a clean tea towel or make a parcel out of grease proof paper.
2) Melt the butter in a large bowl (microwave is fine to melt) then add the biscuits. Press this into your tin and put in the fridge to set whilst you make the topping.
3) Zest the limes, a really good tip is to use a cheese grater. So much quicker than a little zester. Put the zest to one side and juice the limes into a large bowl. Then add the double cream and condensed milk and mix, mix, mix. I do this until it thickens.
4)Then fold in about 3/4 of the zest and pour onto the biscuit base (make sure it has set though before doing so).
5) Chill in the fridge and sprinkle over the remainder of the zest before serving.
There you have it, a delicious and easy to make Key Lime Pie.
